I have a 97 GP GT COUPE. I noticed the other day at work the alarm went off for no reason. The horn and light went off 4 or 5 times than stopped. No cars were near it no people and I watched it happen. It just did it again. Is this common? Please help. Lol

My car has done the same thing also. But also at the same time I noticed the garbage truck just went by the house too. I do know that the motion sensor is set pretty sensitive, as I have set off the alarm on my car from just by letting the fuel door shut too hard. The garbage truck rumble pretty goo also so I just attributed it to that. Just means it is working, right?

Mines doing it to but it's a 2000.
It chooses to go off at odd hours of the morning. (2-3am!).
Wish I could figure it out. The 97-03's have a sensitivity adjustment under the dash but it hasn't helped me.
My problems didn't start until I bought a new keyfob.

I had to disable it (Instructions in owners manual) on my 2000. 04+ have a personal programming mode in the dic which you can turn it on or off.

Yes. Drop the knee panel below the steering wheel. There's a black box 3m taped to the metal bracket. There is a dial to turn up and down the shock sensor.

04+ do not have a shock sensor.
