Ok so my rear 6"x9" deck speakers in my 2004 comp g with the monsoon system are blown so im looking to replace them. Ive heard that the stock speakers are unique and it being 2 ohm while most aftermarket are 4 ohm. So im looking for some rear speakers that i can install myself (hopefully plug and play) that will go in without any problems (IE. no buzzing/ humming etc.) and that wont harm the factory amp. Any suggestions on speakers send them my way. Thanks Nick.

no way of going in with out issue, the monsoon in the rear are a sub and tweeter, so you technically have 4 speakers in the rear. Your right on with the ohm loads though, sadly you wont find much out there. i ended up taking a couple speakers 3 all together wired with crossover to get a 2 ohm load final. So if you understand simple positive/negative and ohm loads you can do it.

Infinity makes 2 ohm speakers. I have a pair in the rear now. Not many companies make 2 ohm speakers though. You are stuck with just a few.

Also if i get aftermarket speakers, will there be any drawbacks/problems with running them off the stock monsoon amp?

Assuming the impendance is correct, and they are installed correctly, I don't see there being an issue. Can't speak from experience though.
