Thanks! One thing I love about this forum is that everyone here understands how excited we can get over a new toy for our GP.

Nice I have the avh 2400. No nav but its sweet. How did you put the picture on it? I tried putting pictures on mine thru usb but couldn't..do I need a parking bypass just to put pics on even do you think?

So, I made my own splash screen just using photoshop. I have an avic 940bt head unit and I just had to make sure I sized the image to be 500x240 or 1000x480 and save it into a folder named "pictures" on a micro sd card. If it is anywhere other than a folder named pictures on the root level the pioneer won't see it. That said, I am unfamiliar with your head unit but I would be more than happy to do a little research on it. I can definitely say that the bypass wouldn't be needed just for a custom splash screen though. So stay tuned and I will let you know what I find out.

Okay sweet, ill start looking into that now too. I was using a USB instead of an sd card but idk if that would matter. And I just threw it all on separately with my music. I will try n make a folder then check n see if that works. If you figure it out lemme know. Thanks

i have the avh1400dvd and had no problems just throwing a picture on a usb drive and using it as a background. cannot remember off the top of my head how i accomplished it without the headunit right in front of me however i do believe it was in the same place all the other backgrounds are located in the appearance settings such as color background etc

from what I have been reading, it really is just as simple as viewing a photo from your usb and selecting the option to set it as a background. It reads the root directory first so place your .jpg image in the root directory outside of a folder and it should pull it right up. I say should because I don't have a similar unit to test it on. I know I am not really as helpful as I had hoped to be.

Yeah I'll have to try tomorrow to hook it back up to my pc n see what they're saved under n try n make a folder for em. It doesn't matter too much it'd just be nice. N don't worry about it, it's more than what I knew before now. Thanks

If you want a custom image file to try just let me know and we can come up with something specific to you or your car. Mine was obviously geared towards my Comp G but I think we can do something cool for you too.

PM me your favorite view of your ride and don't worry about the background in the pic since I will probably change it anyway lol.

No doesn't store them, just the stock 5 or so n then mine has a few "live backgrounds" or w.e you wanna call em. N then mine has a picture icon but i can never open it. It's like blacked out.

Well I successfully tied my new XM receiver into the factory antenna so I guess I am forced to move on to my next project...just haven't decided what that will be yet. And I am liking the avatar GrandPrix06GT, now let's figure out how to get it on your head unit lol.
