Thread: Super loud screech after music plays somewhat loud.....

Hey guys, I've had my car for about a month now, it's a 04 gtp with the 6 disc monsoon. I was playing a CD last night and it seems whenever I have it maybe a tad past halfway and on for over close to ten minutes, all of a sudden a super loud screech will come through the speakers, sounds like I'm getting a fax from hell. If I turn the radio off it still makes the noise, only way to turn it off was to turn the car off and open the door.
Any idea on what it would be?
