I'm going on a road trip soon and I'm hoping to get this installed in an hour or two. I'll give links to the products on Crutchfield since they have extensive info/pictures all in one spot.
I have a JVC AVX-640 installed in my Pontiac Grand Prix: JVC KW-AVX640 DVD receiver at Crutchfield.com
I wired it in myself (as with all my car's aftermarket electrical) with the Metra GMOS-01 Adapter: Metra GMOS-01 GM Factory Integration Adapter Retains OnStar® and factory door chime with aftermarket radio in select GM vehicles at Crutchfield.com
I then wanted steering wheel controls back, so I installed an Axxess ASWC Adapter: Axxess ASWC Steering wheel control interface — connects your car's steering wheel audio controls to an aftermarket stereo at Crutchfield.com
So that's all and good, but recently I upgraded to a smartphone after my stone age cell broke, and figured I should get a bluetooth adapter to stream music and make calls while driving safer and hands-free. I just recieved this JVC adapter: JVC KS-BTA100 Bluetooth® adapter for select JVC receivers at Crutchfield.com
This is where I'm stuck. The steering wheel control adapter required soldering a few wires, and then also plugging in the 3.5mm jack into the back of the headunit. Now that I have it in my hands, I can see that this bluetooth adapter ALSO requires use of the 3.5mm input for its own 3.5mm jack...
What would you guys suggest? I can splice/tap wires and such no problem, in terms of wiring I'm a pro. But I feel like having both 3.5mm jacks spliced into the same input won't work, like the data the headunit receives is going to be all screwed up due to two adapters trying to input data simultaneously...
Any ideas? :/
