after my recent purchase of the clarion cz702 headunit, I have been thinking about running a 3 way active front stage. I want to have a 6.5 midbass driver in the doors and midrange in the kick panels. HiVi M3N 3" Aluminum/Magnesium Midbass 297-433

has any one put a midrange in the kicks? were you able to mount into the metal behind the kick panel, or did you have to fiberglass custom pods?

my other idea was to try and find an enclosed midrange unit that I could mount on the dash?

If it is to much hassle to accomplish the 3 way setup, I may just run 2 way active, with a mid and tweeter.

    any input is appreciated

Those midrange speakers you highlighted may not work. They are 8 ohm speakers and most car receivers don't like 8 ohm speakers(too much impedence(resistance)) so most prefer something like 4 ohm or maybe 2 ohm dependant upon manufacturer.

I found a $20 5.25" pioneer mid on PE that worked well. Closed back so it didn't need an enclosure.

Getting speakers on axis does wonders for clarity. Under 15* is best.

the 8 ohm rating would not be an issue, if say they were 1 ohm yes, lower ohm drives amps harder, but i would take into account when you actually get all speakers wired together on a channel what there final load will be.

    update

thinking of getting these for mids: The Madisound Speaker Store

    tweets: The Madisound Speaker Store

putting them in the doors. I'm wondering if it would be worth it to add a designated midrange and go 3 way, or just run 2way active. i only have a 2 channel amp for front stage right now, so either way I will be buying another amp. I would also like other suggestions for speakers. I'm after a "warm, natural" sound, I absolutely hate bright/ harsh highs.
