Thread: Scangauge 2 vacuum reading

I have been using this thing for the past year. I absolutely love it. I mainly use it for boost, trans temp, average fuel used and knock. But my question is the boost value when at an idle is never really goes past -10. Where as a regular boost gauge would read around -20ish if all was well. So I don't know if the ecu reads it differently then a manual boost gauge(I don't have one to test). Or if there is actually something wrong and I am only get around -10ish. Anyone else have a scangauge 2 that can verify it? I have it reading PSI. Thanks Adam

You have to read MAP in hgs.

Okay, that makes sense. My brain is running slower then usual lately. Boost is measured in PSI and vacuum is measured in Hg. The Scangauge2 only has the options for PSI and KPA. Then you have an option to have it calculate and display it as MAP or BST(Boost). And that is fine. Just as long as I know what it is that I am looking at.
