On my previous thread I had stated I am getting a new OEM NAV for my 2006 GP Base /w onstar and 1-disc stereo... I'm pretty tech savy and good at following guides/directions etc. so I will need to know how to install this NAV unit on my model.

These are the items I believe I need please correct me if i'm wrong

    1. OEM GPS NAV UNIT
    2. VSS HARNESS
    3. Amp of some sort as I do not have the monsoon system
    4.GPS NAV antenna

I also saw that if I have speed compensated volume then I may already have the VSS installed?

I have seen a few guides but the pictures are no longer hosted etc and they are very basic guides and don't tell me to much on how to install it.

If anyone could help me out.. post some guides pictures ... links to a guide what have you I would really appreciate it... I could just take it to a shop but I don't want to pay $500 plus to get it installed! lol Thanks again!

You are missing one very important step, radio will not work without this important step. You have to take car with new radio installed to dealer and have car and radio programmed to work with each other. About $100, no way around this step.

the factory nav was only available on the monsoon equipped vehicles which used external amplifiers. so yes, you will need to amplify your unit.

I've got the factory nab and monsoon system the antenna and on star all in my car but i don't think my nav is connected to the VSS. can you post the link to the guide you're using? I'm interested in using the nav since mine came with a map disk
Overkilled, AL605s, 180 T-stat, Cone Intake, Cross drilled & Slotted Rotors, f-body upgrade, poly upper mounts, shorter dog bones,
factory nav, 2x12s in the trunk, interior LED swap, all 5000k HIDs, red halo's in upper grille, tinted tails and reverse lights, de-badged, XM to line in conversion
