Does anyone know if this part also retains your wheel controls?? Or does it just simply retain use of onstar and the chimes?

    Thanks!

it is meant for systems with a factory amp (Monsoon) and no it does not retain steering wheel controls you have to install another additional harness such as a Pac swijack or Pac swix or any of another others.

    alright thanks.

looks like installing an aftermarket deck for 04+ cars is becoming a huge pain! I can deal without onstar i dont use it anyway

You will only retain door chimes and onstar with that adapter. Otherwise, both of them will be gone without it.

Ya Gmos 04 is the one if you have onstar and the amplified system (factory monsoon).

You still need the GMOS-04 even if your running a amp/your own speaker wires.

I still had to run mine even though I completely gutted that Monsoon crap

I removed my Monsoon amp and replaced with an aftermarket amp and used the GMOS-01 adapter, still rocking 3 years later.

Really wow I tried that prior to buying the GM04 since my buddy had one and sure as hell didn't work for me. I'm lucky I suppose or had a screwed up module

Bought locally but mine is branded
peripheral electronics which is apparently owned by PAC now.

GMOS-04 > you know it will work

GMOS-01 > save yourself $10 and 50-50% that it will work

Check eBay or amazon might be able to grab one for a steal
