What's up guys and gals.I'm trying to install a system in my 04 GP and I went to a stereo shop here in my town to get a istallation kit. When I was getting the kit the owner of the shop tells me when I install my in-dash dvd player that I will have to manually turn it off everytime I turn the car off.Is this true and are there way to get around this situations? Thanks Folks.

Yea, you should have a memory wire that goes to a constant 12 volts and your power wire that goes to a 12 volt source that gets power when the ignition is cut on and cuts the powere off when you shut off the ignition. Does the installation kit com with the plugs to go into you factory wiring?

first suggestion is never let that guy install anything ever. They hook up just like a regular radio with the exception you have a parking brake wire (typically a ground so it turns the screen on)

Thanks guys.I guess I'm better off to put the thing in by myself like I had initially planned to do.I thought that sounded a little weird, he must have gotten his install degree at wal-mart on the clearance rack.LOL.Thanks again guys.

sounds like that guy at the store meant the parking brake wire, most in dash dvd players have regonal codes, u can put in, this way u dont have to worry bout wiring up a switch, if i remember right alpine u need to wire a switch, and some pioneers too, and for the D3 u have to bypass it. what kind is it?

I agree with the rest. The DVD should have a constant 12V power source and a 12V switched power. The switched power will only be on when the key is on. If this is done correctly, it will act like it should...like a normal radio/CD player.

    And...that guy is on crack.
