Why people mount their amp to their sub box is beyond me. You have about 100 better options than doing it that way.

Well its probably the easiest way. That's how I've always done it. I just wanted to get an idea of where people were doing it for their gp's

The point of my post is its a bad idea, no matter how many people do it. Only a novice would think its a good idea.

Think about it this way. Every time the sub hits it puts pressure and vibrations through the box. Do you really think that is good for an amp?

I know people who have had several amp failures, and all had the amp mounted to the sub box? Coincidence? Possibly, but I have never mounted an amp to a sub box and have never had an amp fail.

mines back there because its the easiest and the guy from the shop i bought it at said that some amps can handle it and some cant and mine he said was one of them. and he said i was just fine putting it there so thats what i did 4 years ago and still runnin strong today, i know other ppl that put them there that has had problems but there amps where cheap and crapy so we figured it was because of that, but im sure theres other reasons way amps fail and im sure that them being so close to the subs are a majer part of that

Beyond not being good for the amp, its flat out cheesy. Its really not that hard to mount the amp off to the side of the sub.

Yeah, cuz your car doesnt bounce and shake around driving or vibrate when the sub is loud anyway.....
