Hi everyone. Yesterday I replaced my aging alpine head unit with a Dual XHD7714 which has bluetooth and HD radio (two things my Alpine didnt, reason for upgrade). Before the switch, everything worked and sounded just fine. After the switch however, I get a constant static no matter what mode the HU is on. Tuner, aux, bluetooth and ipod all have static. I hooked up the power antenna wire to the remote turn on wire from the HU (switched 12+) along with the wire to turn on the amps. I have two amps and a sub in my trunk with the power wire running separate from the RCA cables and remote turn on wire. This isnt your normal alternator whine (i get that all the time and it has never bothered me), the static is there when the car is off as well. Thanks for your help.

I'd think it's the Dual HU. Some of the lower cost units don't have the built in filters etc to clean up the normal noise in a car power source.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

Getting a Dual was where the problem started lol. Like Bill said it probably doesnt have a filter to cancel out the noises from the power source. FWIW Alpine makes HD radio and bluetooth capable headunits.
