I am trying to play an audio CD that I burned. The copy plays fine in my '95 Silverado, but won't play in my '99 GP. It's copied from the original CD and is a .cda format. I've used Rhapsody and have used 16x on the speed. Can someone tell me what else I can try? I tried four different methods last night and was unsuccessful with each attempt, however, I have four copies I can play in my truck.

Stock head unit in both vehicles.

    Thanks. It's on a CD-R now. I'll try it on the +R

It may be the actual disk as well. My Grand Prix would not play certain kinds of disks for some reason...just wouldn't read them. What kind of disks are you using? I found that maxell 700mb CD-R's and Sony disks made for music to work. However, I also found many brands of disks would not work at all. I wish I could tell you those, but I threw them away a long time ago.

Suprisingly when using copied disks on my Alpine head unit in my GP it won't play either. Although whatever the hell kinna disk my GMA uses seem to work. It's most likely the type of disk you are using.

They are Memorex CD-R. I did some reading and it seems that Fuji brand is recommended, so maybe it is something to do with the quality also and not just the type. I forgot to look for the +R type when we were at the store last weekend.

Rip as .mp3 and burn at a slower rate, like x4. Some cd players can't read .cda, while other can. And also burn it slow, I've had a CD player that if I burnt at x16 it would just skip around. Burnt it at x4, plays clean as ice.

Don't waste your time with CD+R, mainly because they pretty much don't exist lol. I also suggest using Verbatim discs because they utilize a high quality dye. And try burning an "audio CD" from mp3 source at a slower speed like NegativeOne suggested. You should also check to see if your CD burner supports changing the book type. If it does, set it to change the book type to CD-ROM (rather than CD-R).
