You can go and waste money on the Pilot Underglow light things that set off to like a snap of your fingers, or you can do what I did.
All you need is a little know-how of electronics. (dad being an electromechanical engineer I learned this easily)
You first need to calculate the max volts at hard pound to your sub from amplifier, I have 1k rms amp, so it is approx. 23-24v per channel (2ch).
Knowing this, you choose how many LED's you want, plug into an equation, and find out what size resistor you need, put a few in series (most likely) and then hook it all up to a channel from your amp, the more of a pound from amp to sub, the stronger the light will be.
Just how I did it. Hope it helps, if you want more information let me know.
make me a vu meter designed to run on a 4 V max signal.... KTHX.
Also a video to the pulsing action that it created. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZsZbJ...er_profilepage
For the box, you can make one quite easily, and cheap. My whole set up came to about $15 at the max?
Would you be using an amp for power? If so, find out the RMS wattage and let me know and you can move from there.
Perhaps I can create a how-to as there are a few people that have already asked how to do the whole process. Maybe when I get some spare time later tonight. Keep an eye out for it.
