figured id throw up a few pics of my amp install today

feeding cord through fender (didnt feel like digging for a spot in the firewall)

    ahhh, nice and clean

shot it through this gap with the insulation, and cut a small slit in the door controls grommet to pass it through so everything stays weather tight

pull back carpet and tuck in all the way to the trunk

tada! perfect reach to the amp screwed to the back of the driver side back seat

and here is my 12" kicker L7 poking out to say hi

ok... thats all i had time for today... tune in next time when after i get my new deck in the mail and finish hooking everything up

i like the fender tuck. makes things easy. what deck ya waitin' on?

i need a sub and amp.. not having bass is boring, i already have RCAs and power cables ran too.

    97 GT - slow, rusty
93 CTD - more slow, less rust

Theres a giant grommet on the passengers side floor panel... at least in 97-03's.

Can't see them making a different hole for the electrical harness.

You might want to consider playing with different sub orientations for the sake of sound.

I found the one you have posted there to be the least effective.

yeah, its not even powered up yet, i just have it sitting in the trunk, ill try it firing up, then as a last resort ill try facing rearward... but then i have to be careful what i let roll around in my trunk

Your better off firing up or rear if you aren't sealing off. If you want to fire forward & leave it there for a while, seal the trunk from the cab. that would be your best choice if you're wanting to be loud.

the direction you face it wont make any difference for the people in the rear.

up is also a bad idea because they'll just be pounding on your 6x9's all day and using 'em as passive radiators.

rearward = more volume at the drivers seat.

no matter what way you face it, if its firing in the trunk, you're going to piss people off.

Know what? Just fool around with it and see which one you like best.

    Then leave it that way.

what gauge wire is that?? looks thin, you might wanna upgrade at least to a 4gauge, i like 2gauge myself but its a lil expensive and yes face the woofer toward the trunk opening, gives the waves something to bounce off of.
