I was driving the other day and randomly my amp went into protect mode and no I didn't hit a bump. I then turned off my car and back on and it came back on then 5 minutes later off again and no it wasn't overheated. Now it stays in protect mode. Since I turned my car off and back on and my amp came back on it makes me believe there is nothin wrong with my amp and my subs are not blown either. So any suggestion appreciate it.

Are you 100% sure your subs aren't blown? I had this same problem and I "knew" my subs weren't blown until we looked closer and one was blown. Also does it cut out when you have it really loud or just randomly happens at any volume.

Make shure you have your amp wired correctly. You can use a ohmsmeter to check if the speakers are blown.

If this isn't a new install or something wasn'tly recently added (check there first) then something is bad.

If that's true a capacitor blew or it was wired wrong and the "bump" was a coincidence. Make sure you load the next amp properly. DB-R electronics or ZED Audio will fix the other amp. If it's a cap that went bad it won't cost much.

That happened to me and a few buddies we all thought the amp was blown, id say double check and make sure its grounded very well, if thats a no go either one of your subs may be blown or in my case the wire inside the box on the speaker was disconnected, hooked it back up and the beats were beating again

always check rca cables they go bad often!!! I did autosound for a living for few years.. Also if you have dvc speakers you can have one coil in one speaker go bad and it will cause your amp to go in protect

There are many types of caps used in an amp so no one could tell you since it varries based on whats in there and what you want to replace it with quality wise.
