Ok i first started my google trek tonight with trying to find the info on programming key fobs... after reading through nearly all posts i now know that its a dealer only thing on my car.
Basically some quick info: 05 grand prix gt (V6) all stock nothing custom besides a xm radio using the fm modulator.
basically what i need to know is how do you replace the door lock tumbler. some how the one that WAS there just disappeared. One day it was there then i realized it wasnt anymore.. this is the actual part that your key goes into. the keyless entry (when it works, need to get a new fob) still works so the door does lock and unlock with that. but if the fob ever goes completely out then im screwed and cant get into my car...
So i have spent hours searching everywhere as the where i can get this part and how to replace it.. it seems that all info for this is only pertaining to 03 and before... so what i would like to know is does anyone know how to replace this? (im sure i could figure it out but it would be nice to get some info before) and also what is this part actually called? is there a part number someone knows about? and where the hell can i buy one online? i would rather not pay a gahjillion dollars for this cheap part from the dealer...
any help would be greatly appreciated i am sick of searching online and on the forums only to find nothing about this issue.
