Thread: Adding an aux input to factory delco

Hi there, I am new to these forums.
I have an 06 GT with the stock standard one CD delco stereo. I would like to know if anyone has soldered in an aux line and how did they do it.

I tried the other night by hooking directly to some of the aux in pins on the 12 pin connector. I must have failed because it did not work. I searched the internet for links to "How to" but none were for this particular model.

Yes, I do know about the adapters that can be bought... Im not the kinda guy who will spend $70 to buy an adapter that I can solder myself for nothing.

No XM just Aux/CD button.

There are two pink wires in the BCM plug that meter as ignition. To verify that the correct wire is being energized for remote start, slide the key in the ignition key cylinder and then activate remote start. If the key in ignition warning chime comes on, then the correct wire is being energized.

I have found out that 04-08 are the same wiring (car) so If I can figure out where say XM comes in I may be able to tie in there.

Yea I wanted to know if this is possible for the 97-03 body styles, with or without the equalizer levels in the unit.

what I know so far:

* The radio works fine without the 12 pin connector plugged in.
* All cars (04-08) are supposedly wired for XM radio.
* The XM radio wires are in fact the ones that are in the 12 pin connector
* there are only 4 wires in 12 pin connector they are: GRN/WHT, BRN/WHT, BLK/WHT and a tan wire.
If you read the XM diagram (in my album) you will see that these wires seem to match the XM diagram. With one exception tan should be orange (may just be a color variance).

This is where I soldered in my connection with no luck. I could have been wrong on the pins so I have removed my soldering and will soon attempt to tap into the wires directly instead. I also read that the other end of the 12 pin wire goes to the trunk for the CD changer equipped in some models?

to anyone with XM, can you tell me how your XM is switched on? Maybe I need a trigger for the radio to recognize the aux input? Is your XM module in the trunk?

Gave up and bought a Scosche FMOD02 .. hope this works. It was only $30 on Amazon.

This appears to be a pretty old thread but what were the results of using the Scosche? I am looking to do something similar to this.
