hello all, this is my first post but i've been creeping around this site for a while. i've finally decided to post because i have a problem i can't find an answer to. my '99 grand prix's alarm has recently been going off randomly. usually in the middle of the night. i'm pretty sure no one is trying to break in to it (its in a garage) so i think i have a problem. my first thought was to lower the sensitivity. the alarm on this car has always gone off when a big truck has driven by or on the 4th of july. i followed the steps on this post
    http://www.grandprixforums.net/f41/m...w-i-19969.html

it seems the sensitivy has gone down but the alarm still seems to go off randomly. i looked around on the net and found where i can disable the alarm...
FACTORY ALARM DISARM ORANGE/BLACK (-) @ BLACK MODULE, LIGHT BLUE Plug, above DRIVERS KICK PANEL

before i cut any wires does anyone know if i can just cut that wire? or do i need to cut into it and ground it somewhere? or is there an easier way that i can disable the alarm all together? i'm not worried about not having an alarm. but i do want it to stop pissing of my neighbors.

    thanks

Why not try unplugging the shock sensor like in the link above if you already know where it is located?

mine did that too. and my dads. both 99s. we turned them off with the mall pgm program. (owners manual) and then turned down sensitivity and they dont do it anymore. my sisters 97 did it and my 98 did it too. but we just replaced them.
    hope that helps.
