my factory radio and cd player just died on me recently. I have about 150 bucks I want to spend on an aftermarket receiver. I would prefer to be able to have the front aux input so i can connect an ipod but it's not a must. What is the most reliable brand for this money? Will I need to find a piece of plastic filler to fill the empty gap where the stock radio sat? Any opinions are welcome. I plan on picking up a receiver tomorrow. Thanks

yes u will need the mounting hadware and a wiring harness to do it correctly. for the plastic bezel and harness ur lookin at round 50 bucks alone for these parts. a decent deck is gonna run around 200+ depending on what kind.

zzp sells a mounting kit for 10 bucks and the harness for about 6. ...a harness isn't necessarily needed though is it? can't i just hardwire it in? I've been able to do it in every other car i've had, unless the grand prix is different.

    50 bucks? DAYUMM

For the $6 it is 100% worth it, saves you time and hassle plus its easier to take out if you ever had to.

i believe that harness zzp has is for a stock radio, not aftermarket. The mounting kit i have looks alot better than the one they have to offer. I paid 30 for my stinger harness and a 20 for my mounting kit. And unless u want an unsightly hole in ur dash id suggest getting the mount kit.

    Clarion DXZ785USB.

It's a great deck...you really can't beat the features/processing for the price. You should still be able to find this guy for less than $135...just gotta look At one point I had seen them as low as $100 on clearance but some audio kids got all excited and the pricing shot up to about $150 for clearance price(when newegg had them on clearance).

If you spend at least $150 on one at crutchfield, you get the harness/antenna/mounting kit for free..
I bought a $200 alpine openbox for $151 on there.
