they do look pretty strong,i still think you can get the same results with a single 10 inch W7, Im partial to JL i had them for years, my friends had sony, kenwood, kicker, MTX and my two 12 inch W3's non ported box blew theirs away and i only had an 800 Watt amp powering them, YouTube - 12 JL W7http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i7d-f...eature=related

thanks man...these subs are veryyyyyyyyyyy efficent.i could easily throw another 500 watts on these things and probably permanently damage my hearing.JL makes some good stuff that vid u posted was sick.Ill try and get some better video, all i had in the car was a burned young jeezy cd.
Memphis has always been known as one of the few amps out there that throw out the wattage that they represent in their amps' specs. Very few companies can actually say that.
I have always been impressed by them! All my speaks, my 6x9s and 6.5" speakers are MClass Memphis Audio speakers. Love em to death!
I'd just like to point out that the subwoofer is probably the most insignificant aspect of any car stereo installation but for some reason everybody treats it as the predominant issue.
Whatever happened to listening to music because the sound was great? We're not from random tribes where drums are the only instruments we walk around with. The goal of having a subwoofer is to compliment our other speakers, not over power them.
no system sounds as good playing metallica then having two good subs to get lars' awesome kick drum and gets your blood pumping!
buffering video now....(bad internet here ) o and jeezy's the man
lol what RMS r those DD 10" iners a piece?
Let's say you'd like to tighten up that drum then you'd have to....
Use an EQ to cut at 50hz, add a little to 100hz and add a bit at 800hz. Now guess what? 2 of the 3 adjustments were made to your mid-bass. Not your subwoofer.
My point being...subwoofers do not contribute as much as people would like to think.
kicker and jl also do this. my buddy had a 1200.1 back in teh day, around 2001, and boy that thing put out 1530w at 2 ohms when it was supposed to make 1200...so yeah, we put in two l7 squares when they came out, and daaaaaaammn...we were listening to it when it was out of the box, and the cop next door across teh street came over and said nock that stuff off! you are shaking my stuff in my house! it wasnt in the box, and was quiet..so yeah, kicker is nice!!
^^^ I have to strongely agree
nice. i know the newer kickers have higher rms and peak. his were i think 400rms and 800 peak..so we almost had those things topped out...but they hit HARD. then he sold them and the amp (why didnt i have money and car to put them in...thats right, NAVY) and got a jl 1000w and w7. our friend, his uncle works for jl. he helped design the flex thing around the face of the woofer. so he has a good job, and got a lot of jl stuff free or cheap...where is he now? no idea..wish i still could get a hookup is all.
IDK boys, we might be talking about diffent levels....I mean i'm pushin 500w to each L7, to me thats on differnt platform
