okay so I have an extra pair of infinity 6.5 reference series speakers.. I was thinking hey what the heck i'll just mount these in my car.. so i have a 01 gp gt.. it would be simple for me to just mount them in the rear doors.. but would that be too much sound coming from behind me? does anyone know if there's a front kick panel kit that would point the speakers up towards my ears? I would make my own but I'm not sure how I could get it to point upward and be clean looking.. thanks for the ideas!

yeah but I got rockford punch component with the tweeters high in the door in the front already.. i don't want to change those. they can handle a lot more than the infinity.. but i figured since I have extra's why not throw them in and see how i like that. I would do the kick panels... it would be nice to find a kit though so I know I won't screw anything up.

Another spot would be on the side panels of the rear seat IF you have the 2dr GP. I have seen a few folks cut out the area and fashioned their own bracket to fit a 6.5" speaker there. Looks pretty sharp when done properly.

Frankly I would NOT recommend putting them "under" the rear seat. It will muffle and distort the sound rendering them useless I replaced my Bose 5.5" front door speakers with a pair Memphis Audio M-Class 6.5" speakers. I just dremeled out the bracket to fit the speakers and walla nice upgrade to the front speakers!

I ment like when your sitting on the seat put them were your calf would be not under but infront and under if that makes any sense.

No need to mod them. They also make a kit for a 6.5 inch speaker. You even get to use the infinity grill and tweeter, both of which mount directly to the enclosure. I know they are pricy but that is exactly what you want. They look beautiful and the speakers fit and sound great, the plastic even matches the factory. I have a pair of infinity components in my front doors and A-pillars. Sound great. But I would take a hard look at the q-logic kick panel kit before you write them off. I love Q-logic, they were the only enclosure I would buy before I started making my own. Hope this helps.
