After hitting a couple of speed bumps, now I have a metallic staticy sound. It starts in the front center speaker, then moves to the back. Stopping abruptly stops it for awhile, but it comes back. The cable into the amp is solid. Any ideas?

speaker is probably blown. they use like paper on those speakers and they aren't top quality.

You probably jarred something loose. You will need to go over all the connections to the speakers and head unit. Blown speaker crackle in my experience doesn't come and go or travel from speaker to speaker

I replaced the head unit, because the buttons were worn away, and voila! the noise has vanished. It makes no sense, as all the cables were in solidly, but I'll take it, esoecially since the part cost me $26 (on Offerup), and I did the install myself.
