Is there something in the stock wiring that will prevents the front door speakers from working with an amp, versus the speaker outputs on a sony head unit...??? Strangest thing, going thru the amp, and xover i get no sound to the front door speakers, works fie with the head unit....Not an amp problem..I know some cars had grounded wires, or floating wires forget which..Driving me crazy....Thanks..

What year? What stock amp do you have? do you have onstar? Are you on stock had unit or aftermarket? What amp are you using and what's your hookup?

2001 coupe, no onstar, no stock amp....Running a sony 57up driving front and rear speakers, rca's to brutus amp on kicker sub...Works fine like that...When I try to amp the door speakers going thru eq , I get no sound, used 2 different amps, ran continuity test on wires, seems ok...Things got me baffled...

Trying to make sure I understand you. So currently, you're running your speakers off your Sony head unit, non amp, but you're trying to run the speakers out rca to eq then from eq you amp and from amp to speakers? I'm guessing you already have the amp on wire ran? Where is the equipment located? If in the trunk, do you just have wires run from the trunk to the head unit? Where are you tying in for the speakers (location and wire color)?

Tiying in at head unit to the factory wiring, amp is on swing down between rear seats...rca's down one side, power remote turn on down other side, big 3 done 2 gauge running to back..New cables, new wire......Huge frustration....This aint my first rodeo, but I feel like im doing something stupid here...Both amps, one a crunch, one an older hifonics are 2/3/4 channel amps...One set of preouts on HU going to EQ7 3 preouts off that...Could be I have something on head unit set wrong for full range out......ARGG.....

I'd drop your glove compartment and look for a grey box behind there. It's the Delco amp. You'll need to either run new wires to the doors, or remove it and tie into the wires. I'll try to find the factory pinout. I've done it before.

Oh my god, i love the 6.5 JL Audio speakers I put in the doors, it was a lot of work, BUT Fu@$ they sound really nice, tweeters are so laid back, and soft......Got them from Cruchfield for half price as they are discontinued........I am so happy....Am looking to seal the doors a bit better, anyone got some suggestions in that direction??? Thanks again guys....
