Hello,
Was the Bose sound system available in a 1998 Grand Prix GTP? Or what was the top
end sound system offered from Pontiac?
Thanks,

If I'm correct, there were two options, the Delco amp for just the rear speakers (you can see it right behind glove box, small square grey box), or the bose system (trunk mounted black box). Both had the quad rear speaker deck.
Main difference is how the wires were run. Bose, everything is run from head unit to trunk and from trunk to speaker locations. Delco amp runs from head unit to glove compartment location to speakers, and stock runs from head unit to speakers.
I know 100% the Delco one was offered as I've seen it in person, and 90% on the bose.
All that being said, it's possible to wire up any option from any stock model. I wired a non amp gt to full bose system with rear 12 disk cd changer. It's possible, but not fun.
In 97 & 98 there was 3 options. A 4 speaker in some SE's & base GT's. A 6 speaker Delco was the most common and available on all trims 97-03 and does not use an amp. The last 97 & 98 option was the 8 speaker "Delco Premium" unit that had a small amp behind the glove box which powered the rear 6x9's but none of the other speakers. If you have 4 speakers in your back window you have the Delco Premium system. There was no Bose offered in 97 or 98.
Starting in 99 the Bose system was available and the Delco Premium was dropped. The Bose used a trunk mounted amp that powered all the speakers. Monsoon became an option in the 04+ GP's.
