    My dad has a 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix that has keyless entry. The original remote broke and was lost so got a replacement from Dorman. With the remote when you arm the car the parking lights stay on. Any suggestions as to what could be the issue? It just drained his battery from the lights being left on.

    a few needed notes who programmed the remote, is the exterior exit lighting turned on through the Vehicle information center (middle of dash) does it have 5 buttons? or three? also does the vehicle have anything aftermarket tied to a RAP circuit, such as an aftermarket head unit?

    this info will be in the owners manual. you need to push a few buttons inside the car to get into programing mode for the fob settings. adding the new fob might have reset the fob's settings aka, lights on for so long, or not at all, horn beeps, or dont beep.
