Factory refurbished radio with Bluetooth. I am thinking about this for my system. All I could want except for line outputs.

What I want to know is what do they mean take it to a dealer to pair it to the car. Is this something that can be done with a Tech 2 or something that I can get around another way?

Yes a Tech two tool can program radio to your car

Never seen that before. Kind of cool. LOL

I didn't think the OE did bluetooth until the past few years.

Apparently they add it in and refurbish the radio at the same time. I cant read half of the buttons on my radio and I like the stealth look. I am going to be adding some really good equipment to the car but it's going to be hidden pretty well so I like drawing attention as little as possible. That and all these new "lost in space" radios are just too much for what I like to have.... Although adding a rear view camera is enticing.

I just a tapped into to my xm and added a cord. I hate any connection that isn't directly connected.

That only works if you have XM or other options. Mine is the least optioned 05 GTP out there. Besides whether it is a Bluetooth or an MP-3 file they sound like **** anyway.

Who says I use mp3? lol but you are wrong. BT will have interference. as a direct connection will not. Been doing this to long to know other wise.

You are both wrong. Vinyl is the best, then 8-track.

I lived through vinyl and it sucks donkey balls. My old man bought JBL L65's a Pioneer SX-1250 and a Dual turntable using a Shure V15 Type 3 needle and it took him forever to prepare a record, with the little corduroy brush and some type of liquid and the anti static gun and all that crap. CD's sounded a 100 times better. I also have installed since 1987 so I think I know a thing or two about quality. I have not had any issues across multiple car platforms in the form of interference with Bluetooth. Unless you are using a straight wave file or another CD player the range on MP3's and ITunes whatever that is sucks. They do not sound better than CD to me. I can hear a lot more detail on a CD than I have ever heard on any other platform.

    I was joking. LOL

Everybody's ears are different, so IMO, there is no blanket argument that one format is better than another. Gotta go flip my cassette tape. LOL

    One Factory radio

They fixed my radio, added an "aux in" and reconditioned my buttons on a stock bonneville radio. The volume level for the "aux in" is pretty low. The old cassette adapter sounds better than the aux input. During quiet spots between songs you can hear the radio station bleeding through especially since you have the volume turned up higher.

No. I sent it back once because the lower buttons didn't light up.

I figured they didn't have a better spot to tap in the aux.

Now that you mention it maybe I will send a message and see if they improved the sound quality.

That would be great as that's a deal breaker with me. I really don't want to change the factory radio just because of all the other devices I need to get it to mostly work properly.

I see that was over $200. If you're gonna spend $200+
why not just get a pioneer double din touch screen? They are around $250 (without navigation)

Because you have to spend another $100+ on harnesses to keep everything else (chimes, date, steering controls, etc) functional.
