Sounds like an issue with the transponder in the ignition switch or the switch itself. Do you have another key you can try?

That is a tricky code. If we ignore that and just focus on fuel efficiency, your MAF sensor may stand a cleaning.

answer on this site for the code: Headers even with no leak will cause that code often. Something to do with more flow and the O2 sensor has trouble...
