Thread: I'm a newbie who just got an 06 GXP. What fixes or mods do I need FIRST? Part #'s plz

Hi everyone. I just got a 2006 GXP with 126,000 miles on the clock. I read that I need a stand alone tranny cooler and I'm going to contact TEP for their kit. What else do I need to do to save the tranny? Shift kit? Part # please? Any other engine or tranny fixes or mods that are a MUST? I don't want to make it faster so I'm not going to mod the crap out of it. I like it like it is and just want it to be reliable and last a long time. Thanks so much.

you can get the shift kit from tep, it comes with everything you will need to do the job. I'm not sure what parts in the GXP transmission are prone to failure, but a standard rebuild from TEP will run about 1800 and is worth the peace of mind you will get by knowing your transmission wont implode.

Sorry I'm not too savy of what the "tune" means. An ECM flash? For the engine and tranny or just one? How do I turn off the DOD and why do I want to? Thanks for the help.
