**** the ls4
gm really screwed the pooch on using the damn 80e
Lol LS blocks and engines trump 3800's for those who want to make real power. While a L67 can make some great power a LS motor can always **** on it.
yes guy ill agree ls in a rwd platform....... ls4 in a wbody on the other hand to boost makes no sense just spray it maybe heads cam, the aftermarket isnt nearly the same as the 3800.
thats funny, ive not seen lsx motors that are bone stock putting out nearly 4x oem rated hp.
lsx guys have to drop some $ to make it reliable. we change the intake and oil pan gaskets
reality is the gxp guys got shafted unless it was a g8 or a bonnie.
gm knew damn well the v8 N* was ok behind the 80e yet they used the 65e.
****in tards
I would much rather run a 700whp 3800 than a 700whp ls. The 3800 has proven to be more reliable at that power level for me but I havent spent alot of time doing lsx stuff myself
I wouldn't do an LS unless it was rear wheel drive and even then screw the LS... the lt1 is where its at
just when I was about to loose that last little bit of faith in humanity........... lol in comes some common sense....
thanks DH and Turbo'400sbc!
apparently not everyone has gone full retard.
and never thought about the n* having an 80 but the ls4 that makes just as much only getting the 65........
makes me want to punch an engineer even more. wrong engine trans combo not once but twice!
god forbid the ls4 or a factory boosted engine would get the burtha trans!!
to be fair the ls4 barely clears the 65e and the 80e is a fat girl...they woulda probably had to move the bellhousing away from the axle centerline to clear the larger output planetaries of the 80e
