yea that's the second thing I was looking up also cause I have the slp exhaust which sounds amazing but u can tell from the drone of the exhaust when the DOD kicks on and off. just got rid of my 06 gto that I removed the tips and that thing sounded crazy but the 5.3 is close on its ass sound wise lol

Hey thanks 91parkave! for the added info I was hoping someone would agree with my original thought. Does the exhaust sound on your gxp with the 3" exhaust change a lot? like mine when im accelerating slowly at about 15-20 going to the lower gears the exhaust sound gets a lot deeper then changes again like the dod is kicking on and off. this is my first GXP so not sure if that's normal.

Its very deep I'm also catless so its louder than normal as well.

If this is your first Gxp take the time to start with a couple of things....
Get that fluid and filter changed asap if you haven't done so..
Get a transmission cooler asap. Run in standalone config...

Get a tune....get the dod b.s turned off. It kills city mileage and kills your tourqe converter fast.

    Best of luck

That's exactly what it is,,,, Torque converter. Mine is in the transmission shop right now. RPM's started going up a few 1000 during highway cruise. A week later, transmission started shuttering, then making rattling noise at idle. A day later, nothing, no forward or reverse. Had to flat bed it to the trans shop.
They took it out and said the torque converter failed and spread metal shavings and dust throughout the transmission. Total rebuild is needed. Just got the call that it's now done. Good thing is my trans mechanic only charged $1200 to remove and do a total rebuild. I guess that's why it took 3 weeks before he was able to get to it. 6 month warranty unlimited miles.
Car only has 59,000 miles on it....GXP

This is why if you want the GXP to last you have to get this car tuned and/or shift kit. Im at 96k now stock transmission/w a **** ton of engine mods. from the showroom floor still. TCC lockup PWM tables and force motor current tables are key in keeping it long lasting.

Not completely but unplugged my oil sensor after I posted this just to make sure its not the tranny and haven't had the problem since or oil light come on. Just check engine light. But I rather a little light be on then the car jerking all the time till I get time to figure it out. But I'm not saying its not your tranny but I know for sure its not mine since I just had it rebuilt and it hasnt had one hiccup since.

more than likeley you need to pull the little oil filter below the oil pressure sensor is clogged. pluck it out and clean it and re-install.
