I am going with Flowmaster mufflers (I have used them on every vehicle I have owned). I am not changing anything else but maybe the tips. I was wondering if anyone here has used the 50 series on their GXP. I cant have the mufflers as loud as the 40 series but all I can find on youtube is the 40's and 44's in all their incarnations. My goal is to have a throaty exhaust that wont wake up the neighbors when I start it in the morning (I work midnights) but I want something I can hear and feel at idle and is aggressive at throttle. One last thing. Wife wont ride in it if the interior resonance is to much.

Flowmaster says the 50 series is mild yet noticeable.

    Thanks

Depending on which 50 series you use. Most of the 50's are just as loud as a 40 series, just have a tuning chamber that is supposed to reduce drone. It does to a point. I haven't heard them on a GXP or a Grand Prix but have ran them on a couple of different 5.3L truck's. Still overly loud to me at least. The last truck I put one on has cat's deleted and a single out flowmaster delta 50. The delta 50 suv is a touch quieter.
Everyone has they're own personal preference when it comes to exhaust. Loud doesn't always sound good, the way the exhaust is set-up in these car's the exhaust note is not the same.

My buddy has what i think is a 50 series on his monte and it's not really that loud at all. I'll get a hold of him and find out of sure though.

Delete the resonator no drone slightly louder and more aggressive for cheap. If it's a muffler I'd recommend for this platform its magnaflow or dynomax ultra flows.
