Intake with MAF upgrade and a tune for $100 LESS than JUST a tune from my competition
Custom tuning is two different things; #1 is the quality of the revisions you make to the factory tune to accomplish the goals you're trying to achieve, and #2 is customizing for each individual vehicle.
I'm very confident with what I do in terms of #1. In regards to #2, LS4 owners who modify are typically not complex, they follow the same basic mod pattern of intake, cat-back exhaust and tune. If I preload my tune into a 2006 GXP for example, with the typical mods, and the tune isn't bang on, often I just need to pop the hood and reclock the MAF sensor back to the factory clock position because people don't realize how much that matters, reset the fuel trims and start again. Other than that, there isn't a lot of variance from vehicle to vehicle, it's not like a 3800 where people do a much wider assortment of different mod combos and compound it all by running varying pulley sizes to go with. As such, I can provide a "canned" tune to go with the typical LS4 owner's mods in much the same way that GM provides their tune for the factory LS4 the same from vehicle to vehicle, and achieve great results. If I were to be able to revise someone's tune remotely, the first thing I'd tell them is buy a wideband (or I'd rent them one), otherwise I'm not making any adjustments to WOT unless I can see what I'm dealing with because there's nothing on a scan of a GM vehicle that will tell me what the AFR is coming out the tailpipe.
I respect the work that Lew does and I know the delivery method he uses is very convenient. I'm a Diablosport CMR tuner for Dodge, I'm fully aware of their products and what's done to create their tunes.
I'm comfortable that I can send the tune I do, with the quality I can create within it,
have a pricepoint that puts me roughly 1/3 the cost of my competitor and have a lot of very happy customers.
And hey, if you want a custom tune, purchase an HP Tuner Suite new for $500, I'll provide a tune for $150 including initial adjustments as required, and you'll have a more powerful and useful product at the same price as buying a Trinity/tune.
