Time to change plugs on my '06 GXP and I was looking into replacing original plugs with OEM Platinum or paying a little more and upgrading to Iridium plugs. Anyone have any special preference or insight that may help??? Most of what I've read as far as difference is only the lifespan between the two. Not having any big issues right now with performance or fuel economy. Obviously, new plugs will offer some improvement, but any noticeable responsiveness or improved economy, etc between the two to justify the extra cost??? Also planning on changing the wires while I'm at it. Waddaya think??? OEM or go with a performance set???

    Thanks!!!

I thought the stock plugs for the GXP are AC Delco Iridiums.

The NGK Iridiums are probably the best plug to use on the LS4. Delco ones should be fine as well.

factory plugs should last about 100,000 miles, thats when they call for the fist tune up. my last new truck i swapped them out at 70,000 ish, just because it seemed like a good idea. they still looked good.

i took gregbadass to pick up a car he bought, a 98 gtp, it had like 80,000 on it, all original plugs and wires, i test drove it 3 days before he came in to buy it and it ran fine, 3 days later it was misfiring all over the place, we did a quick tune up, and the car was like new again.

so they say 100,000 but they could last less then then that. as greg and i saw 1 st hand.
