because $200 is way too much for an intake

I like the pics! well done
can u post where you got most of your parts from? There is a couple of places I have been looking for parts, and found some. I guess I want to know where you got the coupler from maf sensor to the pipe. Is that just a 7" cone filter?
Pretty sweet setup though.

I would have put the filter right into the fender and not used that bend.
thanks guys, the couplers were found at silicone intakes (nearly always the best prices on the net) the maf side is about 3.25" (but the coupler fit very tight)
the pipe was randomly found on ebay
the filter is about 5.5 x 5.5 i think, amazon.com is absolutely the best place to get filters literally undercut the next closest competition by about 30 dollars with free shipping
the clamps were lowes
sorry dean, you'll see it soon enough
as for the bend it gave me a bit more options--i honestly dont know if it would have worked without the bend.

I had a fenderwell intake on my old GP - I ended up sucking water into the engine....make sure you get that bypass valve - or whatever it is called.
just curious.....how did you get water in your fender? mine is completely closed off (and my filter is as high as my headlight) im not sure i see a need for the valve to be installed. if my front end is headlight high in water, i have more serious concerns than my intake.
i have fwi too and my filter is all the way down by the fog light. my filter is way further down more than the pic. i just be careful when washing my car. for one i never use automatic car wash and second i never spray water directly at the fog light area. i think the only way to get water in the filter is if you were to drive in a foot or more of water which i don't think anyone would be doing that.

mine was down near the fog light also....my car was lowered - I drove through alittle too much water during a hard rain.
I ended up having to pull the plugs to turn over the engine and spit the water out. I then did a oil change (oil looked like milk)....drove a few miles....did another oil change............drove about 500 miles - and did another oil change...............everything ended up being fine.
If i was you, i would put it in, just in case - but your filter is pretty far up there.
trust me..you dont want to suck up water!!!
