I've gotten the "Low Oil Pressure" light a couple of times in the past week. There's plenty of oil, and the pressure sensor is a brand new ACDelco unit.

Is it the oil pump? Or something else entirely?

in my case it was the pick up tube O-Ring in the oil pan. same thing happened to me right after I had the cam and lifters replaced. it happens a lot on LS engines.

sensor could be bad new in the box. it happens, even with delco parts.

pretty sure theres a screen under the sensor you need to clean or change. it clogs up.

after I posted, I saw in an older thread that you had done that. it could be the oil pump, I don't know how to tell, but if you drop the pan again and have extra money, Brandon Furches, aka LS4King, has new stamped steel and one other upgraded oil pan, supposed to be better, and is supposed to make the 4T80 easier to do. Good luck.

There is also a screen under sensor in the port, remove replace/clean it out. If that doesn't fix issue (or you install manual guages and prove low oil pressure) you may need to drop oil pan and replace the oil pump pickup oring, it's said always use the green one.

Again, already changed the O-ring. Can't get the screen out to clean it, no pick available anywhere fits in the hole.

I ended up changing the oil pump. Went from 22 to 45 psi.
