All three of the above lights came on yesterday when I started the car, leaving for lunch but not on when starting it to come back. Came on when starting to come home but not when starting it from the grocery store, but then came on while driving home.
Of course it wasnt on when I went to the shop this morning and mechanic could find no reason for the lights, including no codes in the computer.
He did mention that sometimes this will happen when brake fluid is low so I added some, (not much)
Came on again, on the way home.....I'm stumped
I had one person tells me that sometimes that happens from heat under the hood..

Found a similar thread to this last night but cant find it now.

Anyone got ideas what to look into??? I need to take grandkids to Carlsbad next week and dont need it breaking down on the road.
(DOH; Now I see the other one when I went back to see if any responses to this.)

On top of the above, the Computer is now flashing a "Service Variable Steering" warning, no top of warnings for the above lights.

Whenever the light come on, do not shut off the vehicle.

Many times but mostly with transmission related DTC's, they will reset if the vehicle is shut off and that is why the fault has to be present at the time you pull the codes.

My guess is either a bad ABS sensor inside the wheel bearing or the EBCM (electronic brake control module) is on the fritz. Both are fairly common issue and the EBCM can be rebuilt if something is wrong with it.

Prices vary too much to give you hard numbers.

If it was a bearing, they are $80-150 just for a bearing if you bought one from like napa. Then if you had to pay labor it's more and if a shop did all of it they will upcharge on the bearing as well.

I think a EBCM repair is 120-150 last time I checked. Most people will ship their's out for repair to companies that do it, or if a local place rebuilds them they do that.

Thanks for the advice; If its not making noise and is still driving okay, is it likely to make another 300-500 miles? (Supposed to take it on a Trip next week.)

My lights came on a while back like 2 or 3 months, not sure. I just kept driving it. No problem so far.

BTW, the lights don't throw any codes. Or at least Torque Pro doesn't detect it. I have one code and it's for the catalytic converter.

ABS codes can't be read by a torque pro. It needs a scanner that can read the EBCM/ABS system.

I'm guessing those scanners are pricey?

$100-200 for a handheld scanner that does regular DTC's and ABS stuff.

The one I bought Innova 3100i, It pointed to the left front. I taped the wires until I could get harnesses ordered.
    Solved it temporarily.
    https://www.amazon.com/Innova-3100i-.../dp/B00WSS5A4I

Check the wires leading to the hubs ABS plug. Pull the plastic loom off a bit to get a glimpse of the condition of the wires.
I bought new harness pigtails for the fronts and my problem went away.

Spazz, Did your Innova 3100i point to the hubs or EBCM? I found a place to rebuild my EBCM for 145, (Five finger was right about expensive new; local dealer wanted ~700) I'm tempted to get it rebuilt but not positive I want spend that then find out the hub is the issue.

Jumping in here, I have this model(at the time it was 37 bucks on amazon)

    https://www.amazon.com/Innova-3030g-...a%2B3030g&th=1

Although it works well wouldn't pick up ABS on my daughters old 2000 GTP. On my Comp G I believe it told me right front hub, ended up being a wiring harness on that side. Grabbed this off ebay and is still holding up after a year and a half, it may or may not fit the GXP so research is needed. Good luck.

Same thing here. It worked on my 04 the same way.
It wouldn't communicate with my nephews 2002GT, I think the rust on that pos had something to do with it..lol.

The 2000 GTP had no rockers left, but looking at the car aside from the peeling hood it still looked decent so it was easy to unload cheap. It would communicate just not with ABS system. Works on my GXP as well as every other car I have tried it on, its a decent model for the price.

I got the DTCs and extended DTCs but it wouldn't communicate with the ABS.
I was there for a graduation so it wasn't jack the car up time.
