I know my car takes the 2 terminal coolant temp sensor, but i see that RockAuto also sales a 3 terminal coolant temp sensor.

Would anybody know what the 3 terminal coolant temp sensor is for?

Two sensors built into one package. If you have a two terminal, then your pcm feeds your dash gauge, vs it being seperate feeds.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

So my 00' GS and 01' LS regal should take the 2 terminal or either one would work rather 2 or 3 terminal?

Our cars only have one coolant temperature sensor which means it feeds the pcm and guage so why is there a 2 terminal and 3 terminal sensor available
