I have been getting an engine code P1133 and have been trying to figure out what would cause it. its for the front O2 sensor, but there are a couple different thing that could cause it. I had one exhaust leak that I fixed, and I might have another, but its probably not as bad as the first.

ya, sd headers. the first leak I fixed was at the junction of the front manifold with the crossover.

Headers even with no leak will cause that code often. Something to do with more flow and the O2 sensor has trouble keeping up. Or the O2 can be bad, but that code is tuned out on both my cars and 2 of my friends cars. Its really not any issue, if you have a new O2 sensor or you verified that the O2 is working.

if the o2 sensor is working properly, and there are no leaks, then there will be no decrease in performance even if the code is still present?

Nope, Just check your O2 readings with the tq app or similar, as long as its bouncing from like .2ish to .8ish youre fine. Something that some people have good luck with and others don't is the spark plug non fowler trick.

my car has a knocking problem that i have read that could be because of this code. Do you have any means of scanning to check? Hopefully someone has a solution other than tuning it out.

Its either a bad O2, or you delete the code, or the non fowler trick. A new O2 would be a good idea.

I thought the non fouler trick was only for the post cat catalytic sensor to deal with the P0420 code? How could you fit those nonfoulers in there?

Some have also had luck with it fixing the slow response code, I wouldn't try it because it may also mess with the fueling readings its seeing.

Tuning it out on a 99 should be fine, it was 2001+ that had issues when it's tuned out

No its the rear O2 that b1tches on 01+, but it can be succesfully tuned on even on 01+ with tiny tuner

Also, you aren't tuning out the whole o2, just turning off reporting for the one cel.

I assumed by your name you had a 99 gtp. mine is a 2001 as well. I dont know anyone that has a tiny tuner. I am going to try the rear O2 sensor first and if that dosent fix it I will try the front. I dont think its the front because on the aeroforce the numbers fluctuate like they should, but the rear numbers dont fit into the range that they should, I think around 500, and they dont change fast at all.

rear O2 has absolutely nothing to do with the code you posted, you don't need tiny tuner to turn off this code or any code, You only need tiny tuner to stop the pcm from performing cat checks if you are catless. HPT or any tuning system will delete this codes.

thanks for the clarification, I must have an exhaust leak or the headers are causing the code and will have to be tuned out.
