Just got my car put back together. Blown head gasket... I have a 2000 GP with a top swap and xp cam. These problems I had before I blew a head gasket...When I'm open throttle the car shifts way too early into 2nd then hesitates like it wants to shift again as I stay WOT. I did a few WOT runs with the car manually in 1st and it shifted fine. What could this be? ALSO, no Check engine lights.

Another problem I had before was a rough idle. It surges up and down. All new gaskets from the heads up. New injectors at .050. Plug wires are maybe a year old. It has a new PCV. Could it be bad Coils??

AC was just completely done today as well. New...compressor, Evaporter, Condenser, Orifice tube, High pressure switch. AC was working good earlier until just now when the passenger side is blowing cold and the driver side not so much. Driver side is getting cooled a little. I remember reading about this problem before but I forget what the solution was....

Any suggestions would be highly appreciated!

    Thanks,

    Steven

TPS and MAP do have a good amount to do with shifting. Confirm which MAP you should have based on your tune and I'd also watch the TPS on a scanner to see that it's reading properly.

I'd also look into the MAF sensor. Try unplugging it to see if your idle changes. I've had bad MAF sensors on a few GM cars cause all sorts of goofy stuff to happen.

I think I've checked the MAF a while back, but I'll check it again.

On the A/C thing, be sure that the system is full on R134. Often when they get low it blows warmer out the drivers side. Might be a small leak in the system somewhere still. Did you do the A/C work? If so, did it hold vacuum when drawn down before filling with freon?

I read up on that the other day. I did not do it myself. I'll probably take it back to the guy I know that did it.

I also read that it could be the blend door actuator. I messed with the AC some more yesterday...I put the temp all the way over to heat on the diver side control and the air pressure went way down out of the drivers side vents. Temp stayed the same because I bypassed my heater core. Put it back to cold and the pressure picked up. I put the passenger side to heat and the pressure stayed the same...Does this mean my blend door actuator is bad on the drivers side??? I remember I replaced the passenger side actuator several years back, but don't remember what was going on that made me change it.

take the driver side one off and turn it by hand, see if it gets cold.

sometimes pulling the climate control fuse will reset the actuators. i just pulled my cc out to repair it and the d/s went hot on me, unplugged it and back in and all was well again.

I have 2 codes. P1133-Heated Oxygen Sensor Insufficient switching sensor. P0171-Bank 1 system too lean.

So theres 2 oxygen sensors? I know of 1 down by the cat. Could these sensors be causing a rough idle?

P0171 is usually a vacuum leak or a cracked EGR pipe (if it's not deleted).

On the manifold? Where exactly is that? Would kind of problems could that cause?

The gasket for the egr pipe may be a little roughed up if I remember correctly. Could that be causing a vacuum leak?

Yes. Also, bank 1 O2 sensor is on top of the rear manifold, just left of cyl. #6 spark plug.
