Okay. I just want to say that when I hold the pedal half way the car will run and then after about a minute it starts to rev upto about 1k ish give or take and then the engine starts to run normal without shaking. But once I let off the pedal a bit it revs down and shakes and runs rough and then dies

    Edit:
Once the engine stopped shaking really bad at 1k rpms, I had someone look at the balancer while it was running and they said it appeared to not be warped. Spun nice and even

Hmm. Started and ran the car for like 2ish minutes. Saw it was a bit below 210° so I shut it off and I look at the engine bay to see transparent headers. Thats very unusual.
They were much more red than the pictures but I was freaked out at first and jumped away from the car. Then got my phone out and by then the front headers were pretty much just pink.

No cat or resonator. Coolant is fine. I didn't think to see if the fans came on or not. I just saw it heat up really fast and shut it off. Then saw the headers almost liquid o.O

Yea that's no Bueno. Gotta make sure coolant system has no area. That your fans are coming on.. And that the coolant temp sensor is functioning correct.

It almost seems like the fuel timing is off. As if the fuel sprays in and then gete pushed into the headers and then the spark happens. It turns over a good like 10 seconds before it actually fires up. Even then I have to keep it around half throttle to get it to run. I even bent tab 85 for full speed pump. Any thoughts?

your spark timing is off or ignition related its dumping fuel like mad, how does the exhaust smell, burn your eyes?

you sure the plug wires are on right?

    I have that picture =]
Here is why I believe the spark plug wires are correct. I had the car running, never removed them, fixed the oil leak behind balancer pulley, now this =O
What could have put the timing off?
    Could it be PCM related?
Could timing have got messed up from removing the harmonic balancer?
    Could it be CPS?

being the crank sensor tells the icm to do its firing of the coils to the plugs, put a new crank sensor in, you played there last.

Alrighty. Sounds simple enough. Do I need to buy a new one? Or can I use the one from my previous engine?

Well it's like a $40-50 sensor. So you can decide if you rather go out and buy a brand new one or reuse the other one.

Well since I have about $9 in my bank, I think reusing my old engine's sensor is the way to go for the time being =/

It's a hit or miss. I guess depends on what mileage your old motor had.. You might not need to replace it for years or you may have to replace it next week you just never know. I'm one of the guys that doesn't like doing things twice so when I'm doing something in that area and the sensor or gasket is easy and cheap to replace generally I do just to avoid the future potential headache.

Lemme ask an off the wall question here. When you reinstalled the balancer.... did you
    A) Push it back on and crank the bolt in.
    B) Turn it while pushing on and once the key engaged in the keyway it slid on about 1/2" or so then you cranked the bolt in
    C) Honestly don't remember

If you answer anything besides B... pull the balancer off and see how bad it is.

If you answered B, you need a crank learn. I have rarely seen a car run this horrible etc after a simple thing and a crank learn ended up being the savior.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

    Good call Bill.
I thought I had it in place when I put it on but apparently I didn't..

The balancer looks pretty messed up.

Sorry to be right so damn much.

Your motor wouldn't start because the pcm was reading the incorrect crank position based on the balancer being on incorrectly.

A tip.. I always push with my hand and rotate the HB until it engages the keyway.. then the bolt goes in.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.
