Thread: Starting issue.

So every once in a while car won't start. Has power. Radio everything turns on. Starter doesn't click. After a while it usually starts. Ground maybe?

check the tranny grounds, and the starter wires, and the battery terminals.

Okay. Currently in a walmart parking lot. Lol

see if the battery connections move, a little twist of the hand can help a ton if they are loose.

wiggle the grounds.

then theres the good old beat on the starter trick. maybe its dead and needs a beating to jump back to life.

Do I crank it while I hit it. Or can I just hit it cause it's just me by myself lol

you can hit it 3 or 4 times rather hard, then go turn the key. if you dont have a hammer think large rock or brick.

I used a adjustable wrench. Didn't work

some times it needs a good hard hit. if the wires are all tight and clean looking.

if you got a screw driver handy try jumping the starter motor. do this with the key to run. that way if it cranks it can start.

if that dont work try smacking the key side of the column.

also make sure the tranny shiftier is in park. the plastic cable ends like to break or wear.

My 98 used to do this but only once in a great while

I fixed it. Ground wire to starter actually broke
