Yes you can just run a positive and negative from the trunk to the bay. But you need a distribution block. So it can go from that too the starter and alternator. REDCOMP made it perfectly clear above for a write up Conner

anything over 2 ga for the starting/charging is just extra dead weight.
the Riv had a little voltage drop under startup with 4ga (your highest current draw, ive measured 120-180 amps depending on the starter) with 2 gauge replacement (welding cable) voltage drop was under 0.2 for only a fraction of a second durring startup, lights stronger.
starter sound/startup didnt change much, so the racing guys are probably happier with the lower weight of the 4ga.
then again since the weight is being moved to the rear of the chassis where its not desired..... im sure no one cares about an extra 30+ lbs of copper slowing em down too
