Alright, I'm mounting an amplifier to my trunk floor in my 2000 GTP for my audio system. The amp will be mounted in the very back of the trunk near the back seats on the flat metal surface. Do any of you guys by any chance know if there is anything directly under that area I should be aware of so that I do not drill into it? I know that the gas tank is right near there, but the screws I'm using will literally only come through the metal about 1/4 inch if that. I think I should be safe, but I was checking to see if any of you guys have experience doing something like this. Also, I would've posted this in the audio section, but it doesn't really have anything to do with audio, just the mounting location.

THANKS...and sorry for the paragraph haha.

There is an access panel for your fuel pump right by the center passage hole. I would not cover that up other then that i think your fine. You could stick a mirror down the access panel to double check tho.

I think I know what you are talking about. Like, a silver piece of metal right there under the carpet. I didn't even think about opening that up haha. Thanks though, I'll give it a try tomorrow morning.

Quick question... why not just mount it to the back seat? Much safer than drilling through the underside of your car.

I think by mounting it on the floor you can hide the wires easier under the carpet.

Oh, that would have been my first choice, but my back seat is made of a cheaper plastic material that is kind of flimsy. If it was harder and more solid it would already be there.

Why drill? I have had 2 systems never bolted them down. I had in my 99 GP GT It was heavy enough it didn't go anywhere. I had 2 12' Kicker L7.
