The drive shaft on older superchargers is not vented. The shaft on newer superchargers is different looking and vented. The older superchargers have a sintered breather screwed into the shaft that does nothing.

The seal on older superchargers has a spring around it for better sealing. The seal on the newer superchargers has no spring.

Supercharger shaft with motor oil versus one with supercharger oil. The motor oil is sticky and thick.

This is for all the mobile 1 is okay to use guys. .

By "older" and "newer", are we talking Gen III vs Gen V, or M62's to Gen III's, a '98 Gen III vs an '02 Gen III, or something else? How many miles on the shaft that ran the M1?

Vented switched to non vented on all gen 3 and 5 around 2003.

Don't no miles just the condition of the the snout. Motor oil snouts are horrible!!!!!.

Supercharger oil doesn't get thicker and sticker, it stays thin and atomizes and flows.

I see more snouts then most people.

No doubt, I was just wondering how long it takes to get that bad. I personally just run the proper oil because I'm not poor, but when I see other people ask about it I hate to comment as I haven't had any first hand experience with using motor oil in there. Now I have a link to reference people to, lol.
