If you are just looking for a stock replacement quite a few people on here still used ones, it isn't a part that goes bad very often. Check the forums for stock replacements.
An aquired skip in the engine, intermittent, thought to be head-gasket, runs to good with no coolant loss or white smoke, fresh secondary ignition, 160-ther.,seems to be more so after warmed up, goes like hell when its not skipping, has 176k on the clock, was a recommundation from another forum member, seems logical with the miles......#22 or #24lb?? would like to buy a tried and true set from someone here that out grew them and went bigger!................thanks

If the engine is having a misfire, a code would be present, have you pulled codes? A bad head gasket doesn't mean you would loose coolant, the head gasket can break in between cylinders and loose compression that way, a compression check is a test for that. I don't think your problem is your head gasket, I'm just giving you that information. I would start by pulling codes and let the PCM tell you whats wrong and where to start troubleshooting. If there are no codes, check for vacuum leaks, and do a full tune up. Plugs, wires, fuel filter, the works.
Sure sounds like ignition to me have you chccked the ignition control module under the coils? Coil could be bad too but do you have a misfire light or what? ICM and coils are far more likely the problem. Also the coils should have some dielectric grease under them where they sit on the ICM. Highly doubt its an injector ive owned 7 w bodies not a single one has had an injector problem now coils and ICM on the other hand ive done 4 coils and 2 ICM's between all the ones Ive owned. My best suggestion is stop guessing and scan the car!!!
okay!! im on the scanning van tommorow and will report my findings!!!........thanks
okay folks, the scanner has shown codes as followed, 172, 203 and 203pd, 303 and 303pd....looks like an injector at #3 or.......
Since we all don't know what the codes are, I did some googling for you to help us help you:
P0172 which is System Too Rich Bank 1
P0203 means that the PCM detected a fault in the injector or the wiring to the injector.
p0303- cyl 3 misfire
So, based on that, it could be the wiring to that injector (check for corrosion in harness where it connects to the injector, or any bare wiring leading to it). I've had an animal chew up part of my injector harness before and it took me a minute to find it. One wire was chewed completely through.
If the wiring looks good, maybe try swapping #3 injector with #5 and see if the miss follows the injector or stays on #3. If it follows then I'd say time for a replacement injector.
