For the 3rd time in two years that I have replaced coolant temp sensors on 3.8s (Different projects) and this week I found out it's literally a defect. It's advance auto parts Part No. WT3024. Here it is : Buy BWD Engine Coolant Temperature Sender WT3024 at Advance Auto Parts . The sensor reads around 238 degrees when in reality it's around 195 degrees . You'd replace the sensor for cheap insurance and it leads you to believe that there's a problem, when the problem is actually called : Borg warner made in damn Mexico. The part is 28 bucks at advance and 35 at the dealer (Ac Delco), I don't know if any of you guys have used this part from advance and were fine with it, I was under the impression that maybe one sensor was bad even though it's brand new, then maybe two, but three ?!! Just wanted to post this and help you guys know what's going on with that specific sensor from advance. Thanks

BWD is a pretty good line for the most part, I've had good experience with it, and I sell a LOT of them.. never hear anything negative back. We rarely see them returned.

I think my MAF is BWD and it's been good.

I had one go bad on me a couple years ago an replaced it with a Delco. I've bought plenty of "white box" parts in my day but I usually opt for Delco when it comes to sensors. I have a spare for just about every sensor on these cars but some 3800's have a two wire coolant temp sensor and some have a three wire and as luck would have it I needed the one I didn't have.
