i was justing thinkint to my self if i did an egr delete i will throw a code right? and what are the benefits of deleting it ?

Slightly less mpg, a check engine light and if you are in an emissions state...a failure sticker.
cleans up the engine bay a lot.
setting the code to no report is super easy.
and loss of mpg is more prominant with misuse of your right foot than the EGR delete would do.
I deleted my egr and saw no difference in gas mileage at all.
My thinking and you can take it with a grain of salt... I deleted my EGR and had it tuned out of my PCM. Why:
1) Cleans up the engine bay a lot
2) Opens up area to work to change plugs LOL
3) MPG are not noticed in around town driving.. you might lose 2-3 MPG highway driving
4) And most important to me, I now do NOT have hot exhaust running through my intake into my cyl's...
I am trying to keep the air as cool as possible so my thinking was, remove EGR, no more hot exhaust gas.. Now is my thinking right, who knows.. LOL But made sense, and looks better..
This guy has no EGR.
Never saw a difference in MPGs.
The EGR is not always open, it only opens at certain times based on speed/rpms/airflow etc etc. So the only time the hot gases that help cool the combustion is when cruising around like on a freeway.
Now I know, still don't have it and not putting it back.. LOL
EGR is suppose to help reduce Nox emissions. That is the main goal but it also helps in gaining 1-2 MPG and really only opens during cruising. i think 04+ GPs' benefit most by deleting it because of the Throttle by wire. I have seen several GP's have hard start no start issues and ended up having to clean out the throttle body with carb cleaner and a rag as a fix. The egr inlet in the intake is right after the THrottle body and coats it with carbon build up bad.
