I had a small oil leak a month or 2 ago. Traced it to the crank shaft and installed a new seal.

A couple days later, it was still leaking, I installed another (new) seal and thought I was done for sure.

Surprise, surprise... It's leaking again, badly. I can actually watch it drip off the balancer.

I know it wasn't a bad seal because this is the third one, wtf?!

I went through two bad seals before I got one to seal. Try cleaning up the surface on the balancer with some fine sandpaper. I mean like 1500 grit. Also Autozone sells a nice Timken seal that has two oil walls and a dust wall.
