I'm going currently getting the ball rolling on swapping my cars pulley back to stock right now but I want to start getting the ball rolling on supporting mods for the car so i can eventually swap back down to the smaller pulley. I think my first step will be headers so i need opinions, what are some good brands of headers out there that are high performance yet cheap??

right now SSACs are the best bet.. Pacesetters are fairly cheap too but might require some added work.

    Pacesetters FTW!!!

Do search and do some homework, search google and you'll find prices, availability is another issue. I have pacesetters and love em, no issue with installation or otherwise.

I have heard sometimes the collector leaks on the Pacesetters and has to be welded closed... But I went with Speed Daddys before they were a BAJILLION dollars

so either SSAC or pace setters are the way to go right now, once i get the money in hand I want to get a set so i can start to work towards getting my car set to run the 3.4 pulley that I'm pulling off my car because some idiot before me decided a 3.4 pulley with intake and exaust was a good idea

LOL... Speed Daddys are good too if you can get them for around the same price as SSACs.

well when i get the car running 100% after i get the pulley back to stock and fix whatever else i find wrong with the car I'm throwing a set of headers on it to get the ball rolling. I eventually want to run low 12's in the 1/4 mile with the car but that goal is a long ways away

I would try to avoid pacesetters. They are difficult to seal up the y-pipe.

Otherwise, TOG's, ZZP, WBS are all good headers. SSAC, XS Power, and Speed Daddy will all require modifications before they are issue-free.

Speed Daddys and SSACs are the same thing as SLP....Plus there is really no need to spend a lot of money on top dollar headers if your not going to MAX power(i.e. Ported Heads)

If you have ported heads then I would recommend the bigger primary headers... And if you plan on doing that then I guess the choice is yours...

i'm looking at headers and i'm seeing things like, cut and weld, pound firewall in to fit, clamps bad, leaky flexpipe......
why make headers that dont fit the fit the car? why not provide good clamps?

the clamps i guess is something i can work with, but not the other stuff.

so what has to be done to get the speed daddys or ssacs to work? are they straight bolt in? do you use factory gaskets? i have 2001 gtp

On my sd's I had to beat the firewall in to clear the o2. On a set of ssac's I installed the crossover didn't line up.

SDs use factory gaskets, new clamps, and you might have to pound firewall to fit DP.

so what did you wind up doing for the crossover? and when did you install? is there a chance they redesigned? i don't imagine the setup in the 98 and 01 is too different as far as space and exhuast are concerned. but maybe
